PAST PROJECTS/EVENTS

  • Volunteer Fair - Friday, June 14, 2002
The volunteer fair is a fairly new event to our Key Club. We try to get organizations to come and provide information to students about volunteer opportunities throughout the community for summer vacation. This year's volunteer fair, unlike last year's, was a bit of a disappointed. However, not deterred, we will concentrate our efforts on ensuring next year's fair will be a success!

  • Kiss-a-Senior-Goodbye
The Kiss-a-Senior-Goodbye was a fundraiser for our Key Club.

  • Flowers for Matthew
Flowers for Matthew was a very successful fundraiser that raised money for our HOLT International child, Matthew. We sold paper cut-out flowers that people could buy and sign and put them up outside of the library.

  • Quilt for Matthew
This project combined service and quilt-making as several of our Key Club members wove quilts to be sent to Matthew and to First Place.

  • March of Dimes (Major Emphasis Project!)
Only one Key Clubber from GHS showed up for this year's March. Next year we will show more support!

  • US West Holiday Carousel - Wednesday, December 19, 2001, and Thursday, November 29, 2001
Our 2001 carousel event was pretty successful on Thursday, November 29 with a stellar attendance record for GHS. However, only two GHS volunteers showed up on December 19! Luckily that was enough to have us asked back for next year.

  • Trick-or-treating for UNICEF (Major Emphasis Project!)

  • 1000 Cranes
This project was thought up after the 9/11 attacks, basically as a way of symbolizing hope and peace.
